A filly from two of our FAVORITE HORSES!!! The long awaited day arrived early on the 1st of October. When we saw this darling little one, we knew she was special. The best of her Sire and Dam, we expect Freya Florella to be one top quality Gypsy Horse! We could not be happier!
But why two names? Well, the two Kims around here each named her and since I love them both dearly, two names it is! Freya means Goddess of Love, Fertility, and Beauty and Florella means Blossom.
And special thanks to the folks at Animal Genetics Inc (the color testing lab we use), we found that this fabulous filly carries the PEARL gene!!! This was a very unexpected surprise and once we tested Fenella for the pearl gene, we found SHE was a carrier too! In it's single form, it remains hidden and unexpressed, but when paired with another pearl or with a cream gene, it creates the beautiful rare color we have all come to adore!
